Record number of song submissions in Denmark

Copenhagen, Denmark - Denmark hosting the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest has had an apparent effect on submissions for their national final, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2014. An impressive 872 songs have been sent in to broadcaster DR!

Denmark's national selection has been going from strength to strength during the last few years with song submissions increasing year on year. However, no one could have predicted the surge in interest this year with an impressive 872 submissions received; a whole 180 more than last year!
"This is just so incredibly amazing!", exclaims DR's head of entertainment, Rasmus Ladefoged.
