Melodifestivalen 2013 is going to be held between 2 February and 9 March 2013 . It will select Sweden's 53nd song to be internationally represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Swedish Malmö in May !
Format
The 2013 edition of Melodifestivalen will be similar to the previous ten years in format, with four heats, a second chance round and a grand final. The four heats will be held in Karlskrona (2 February), Gothenburg (9 February), Skellefteå (16 February) and Malmö (23 February). The second chance round will be held in Karlstad on 2 March while the final in Stockholm will be held on 9 March.

Melodifestivalen - is an annual music competition organised by Swedish public broadcasters Sveriges Television (SVT) and Sveriges Radio (SR). It determines the country's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest, and has been staged almost every year since 1959. Since 2000, the competition has been the most popular television programme in Sweden.
The festival has produced five Eurovision winners and eighteen top-five placings for Sweden at the contest.
Fifty of Sweden's fifty-one Eurovision representatives have come from Melodifestivalen. Sweden has won the Eurovision Song Contest five times: in 1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, and 2012.
